An interview with Antonette Vanasek by the Sacramento Association of Health Underwriters (SAHU)

How long have you been a member of SAHU?

Since July 2022.

Why did you join SAHU and what do you love most about SAHU?

I joined SAHU because I was looking for a place to connect with like-minded people and help promote digital solutions that benefit our world. What I love most about SAHU is the strong sense of community and the opportunity to learn and collaborate with others with similar interests. Everyone is passionate and committed to creating a better future through their work. It’s truly inspiring!

What’s one skill you’d like to develop or sharpen this year within SAHU?

This year I would like to hone my data science skills, specifically by exploring the possibilities of machine learning and artificial intelligence. I’m excited to learn how to use these technologies to solve real-world problems and create positive impacts in our world.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

The best piece of career advice I ever received was to stay open-minded and explore opportunities outside my comfort zone. This has opened up many possibilities for me and allowed me to take risks that ultimately have paid off in the long run. I’m thankful for all the guidance I’ve received along my journey and cherish any chance I get to give back by helping others reach their goals.

What’s your biggest (or one of your biggest) professional accomplishment(s) so far?

My biggest professional accomplishment so far has been creating a second successful startup. After many months of hard work and dedication, I launched a second company, which has since grown into a successful business. I’m immensely proud of this achievement and will continue striving to succeed in my insurance career.

When you’re not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?

When I’m not working, I enjoy pursuing my hobbies and interests. I also have a passion for reading and learning something new every day. Spending quality time with friends and family is also important to me, so when I’m free, I set aside some time just for that purpose.
